[expand title=”How do I make my child listen to me?”]Often times, it is not about making your children listen, but rather connecting with your kiddos in a way they are willing and able to cooperate with your request. We have many opportunities for you to learn strategies for gaining cooperation in our calendar of classes.[/expand]

[expand title=”What is the best way to discipline my child?”]No single discipline tactic is perfect in all situations, so it is important to have an entire toolbox of strategies and tactics. Timers, games, communication, limits, rules, consequences, etc. are all forms of discipline and can be used in different situations. We can help you build that toolbox with our assortment of classes and workshops.

[expand title=”How do I parent without yelling?”]When parents are not properly taking care of themselves, it is easy to feel stressed, overwhelmed and frustrated, making yelling an easy tool to pull out of your parenting toolbox. Yelling teaches very little, except that you are angry and your children have caused that anger. Parental self-care is very important for a parent, because when you can respond to your children’s behaviors in a calm, caring, and logical way, you are much likely to gain their cooperation. [expand title=”Does spanking teach a child right from wrong?”]Every form of discipline teaches many things. Many times, they can have unintended lessons we may not be considering. For example, spanking may teach not to do something in the short-term, but long-term lessons may include that parents are to be feared, how not to get caught, pain and love are closely linked, and that the child is a bad child. It is important to consider all lessons being taught through your forms of discipline and find strategies that teach what you want to build in your child.[/expand]

[expand title=”How do I bond with my baby?”]Bonding and attachment do not happen overnight. They can only be built from sustained and consistent positive interactions with your child. They cannot be forced, but must be grown over time by being present emotionally with your child. Many of our classes and workshops include strategies for building bonds with your children.[/expand]
